Rice (Biryani)

onion

Directions

  1. Fry onion until soft.
  2. Add biryani paste.
  3. Add rice.
  4. Add 1.5 cups of water per 1 cup of rice.
  5. Add salt.
  6. Simmer until rice is done.

Biryani Rice (hard way)

Basmati RiceOnion
Garlic
Cardamom
Cinnamon
Cloves
Coriander
Cumin seeds
Fennel
Ginger
Turmeric
Cilantro
Cayenne pepper (optional)

Directions

  1. Saute some onion in butter (with oil) until soft.
  2. Blend rest of onion and remaining spices and add.
  3. Add rice.
  4. Add 1.5 cups of water per 1 cup of rice.
  5. Add salt.
  6. Simmer until rice is done.
